Facts are stubborn things

I heard on NPR this morning that a U.S. border patrol agent shot and killed a teenager across the Texas border in Mexico.

A border patrol spokesman argues, as do people defending the shooter, that he was acting in self-defense - apparently the teen who the agent shot was throwing rocks at him, and the agent was in danger. It's unclear at the moment whether or not this is true.

Of course, if it's true, this isn't the first time in American history when government agents have fired on and killed rock-throwers in self-defense. It's happened before.

And when it happened before, we called it the Boston Massacre.

What is wrong with people? Why is it so hard to believe that an American could do something bad?

  1. It's elementary school brainwashing. As they say in Dogma..."Get em while they're young!"

I actually think the last time it happened, we called it Kent State, yeah?

  2. True, but I thought I'd pick one that conservatives didn't think was justified. ;/
